MinisterSearch is the OLDEST and MOST SUCCESSFUL full-service church and pastoral staffing, search firm focused solely on ministry positions for pastors and ministers. No other search firm can compare to the experience and success of MinisterSearch. Our church staff recruiters have years of ministry and church staffing experience. Our search firm has guided thousands of pastors, ministers, and churches through the whole search process.
The MinisterSearch team is committed to ministry. In fact, each person is actively involved in local ministry. The firm is committed to corporate prayer and missions’ giving. We regularly pray individually and as a team. We also give no less than 10% of our gross earnings to churches, ministries, missions, and individuals all over the world.
David Lyons founded MinisterSearch more than a decade ago. David has served in multiple leadership roles within the local church community, including being on staff, serving as a member of the deacon team, and volunteering in the creative arts, student, and children’s ministries.
After college and a four-year tour in the United States Marine Corps, David began his career in the recruiting industry. He landed at a $250 million/year information technology consulting firm that served small and mid-sized companies as well as Fortune 500 corporations in identifying, acquiring, and retaining the most effective leaders and team members.
As David’s knowledge of and success in corporate “head hunting” increased, together with his church leadership experience, he realized that there was a great need to enhance the hiring and staff development process within the church, so he founded MinisterSearch. Since 2001, David and the MinisterSearch team have consulted with thousands of churches and pastoral staff members in the areas of hiring, firing, compensation studies, development, and retention. David’s passion is strategizing with church leaders to develop the most effective practices in the areas of staffing and strategic leadership. To keep on the cutting edge of church leadership and staffing, David regularly meets with church leaders from all over the United States and continually studies what’s working and what’s not in both church and non-church organizations.
David’s hobbies include boating, wakeboarding, golf (when he can find time), and playing guitar. However, there is nothing David loves more than spending time with his wife and five beautiful children.
